Summary

Commissioned by the Joint Coal Board, this is a training film about underground coalmine roof bolting. Opening with a scene of a simulated rock fall injuring a miner, the film explains the geological forces exerting pressure on a mine roof, how narrow roadways are safer as well as extensive footage of various roof bolting techniques being carried out underground.
