The Australian Trade Union Institute provides education designed by unionists, for unionists. It is the space for ongoing collaboration and research that furthers the interests of workers.
Powered by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), the ATUI offers flexible training both online, face-to-face, and on-demand.
In addition to providing education and training, the ATUI acts as a network for sharing ideas and strategies between unions, drawing on the wealth of knowledge and experience across the movement, as well as thought leaders from related fields, to facilitate tailored training that meets the real needs of unionists, and collaboration and research that builds the capacity of the movement as a whole.
The Australian Trade Union Institute (ATUI) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with the Australian Quality and Skills Authority (ASQA) operating under the legal name of ACTU Education Inc. The RTO number is 4141. Being an RTO we are able to deliver accredited training that leads to a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
Currently we have scope to deliver BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. For more information regarding this qualification please click the link here.

The Australian Trade Union Institute is partnering with education credential provider Credly to deliver digital badges in recognition of your learning.
A digital badge – in short – clearly details what you can do, what you did to earn this badge, and who says you earned it. It is more than a piece of paper. You can think about a digital badge as proof of the training you’ve received through the ATUI. A bit like a certificate, but much easier to share and verify online, whether that’s through websites such as LinkedIn, social media accounts like Twitter and Facebook, or even through email. Click here to watch a useful explainer video from Credly.
Once you’ve completed an eligible course with us, you will receive an email directly from Credly asking you to sign up for a Credly account and accept your badge.
