Summary
Produced by the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, this is a brief interview with the daughter and granddaughter of railway workers. Once the centre of rail assembly and maintenance in New South Wales, the Eveleigh Railway Workshops now form part of the Australian Technology Park.
Nerida’s father started work for the Railways when he was 15 or 16. Starting as a shunter, he lost the toes on his left foot when a train ran over his foot, which resulted in a lengthy hospital stay. Nerida remembers the railway picnics at Nielsen Park, which were fun filled family days.
