Summary

Silent newsreel footage of the Labour Day parade in Tamworth, New South Wales, celebrating the eight hour day on Monday Oct 23rd 1916. The footage features marchers, union banners, horse riders, horse drawn floats, early motor vehicles and soldiers as they parade past the camera. Sir Gerald Strickland, the State Governor of New South Wales, makes a speech at Tamworth Oval about the 8 hour day.
