Summary
A newsreel about the 1955 Labour Day celebration parade through the streets of Sydney, which is held on the first Monday of October. This year is special since it also marks the centenary of the start of the movement for shorter hours of work. The procession is led by the Stone Masons Society, which was the first union to win the 8 hour day. Footage of workers marching with union banners and parade floats pass the camera.
