Are you an experienced workplace representative seeking to build your leadership capacity?

This course is all about providing a space for emerging union leaders and delegates to refine their skills.

Learn advanced communication, negotiation, and campaign skills. Update your knowledge of contemporary economic and industrial debates, and how building holistic workplace structures can more effectively support the needs of workers.

You will also have the opportunity throughout the course to plan a project relevant to your workplace and, at the end of the course, you will be ready to implement and drive this plan with confidence.

This course is offered in four-day training via face-to-face or two blocks of three-day and one block of two-day training over three consecutive weeks via zoom.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Research and analyse the issues working people experience in the workplace;
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills;
  • Analyse the negotiations cycle, and develop plans and take action, and address workplace issues;
  • Confidently communicate with working people about the role of unions in improving their lives; and
  • Take advantage of the different organising approaches that they will be exposed to, by working with delegates from across the movement.
